Updates

At EA watching TV shows/drama, but I only watched 2 epi of 7pm show today.
Bored, so shall blog a little.

Another lab-less week!
FYP is put on hold, for the practical part.
Starting to write something for thesis.
The starting is always the worst and tormenting part where you don't even know where to begin.
actually I am really frustrated abt the shifting of lab. but I shall not dwell too much on it.
Lyon is afraid that he doesnt have time left to finish his expts,and there seem to be a problem connecting the GelDoc equiment to the computer :s
And where is my supervisor??? Argg...
Do I really need GPS to find her??? Alright, peace!

Routine run yesterday, it did woke me up a lil cuz I was feeling tired and sleepy while slacking at EA, but couldnt complete 10 laps.

Then we went to Turf City for bbq steamboat, quiet enviroment, totally different from Crystal Jade. $16 per pax, I considered that cheap. Yuanyuan ate lots of sweetcorns while jiahui concentrated more on mussels and cockles haha. I liked the fried buns, think I ate 10 of them. Had a sore throat so need to control the amt of bbq meat :(
Overall it was pretty fun cooking the food.
A farewell dinner for yuanyuan, the ex-welfare director, yeps, with that genuine smile :)
Hope she will adapt and live well in the UK.



It was Angela's bday yesterday! And we met up for jap lunch :)
And I gave her a Capricorn mug, hope its useful.
I always frequent the arts canteen for jap food cuz I don't really like the one in techno.
Went back to watch the short video of the SEP gang singing bday song for her infront of Golden Gate Bridge when we were at San Francisco. Hmm, one year had gone by just like that.
Those were the happy moments, yup, really had lots of fun with these people around.
So she is happily in love, glad she found her other half :) All the best!

Hmm, have always been wanting to do a video montage of our huge collections of photos taken during SEP. Shall explore how to do it one day.

Guess wat! Today the very-free-Brenda told me to organise cny gathering!!

realized I shouldnt emo-sify this blog any further.
Lyon is jealous of certain things that he shouldnt even think abt.

Lazy sunday

Have been shopping around recently, but yet to find a suitable organiser.
Perhaps I should just continue using the previous one.
Artbox has lots of designs, but too girly for me to use.
Yup, I very tiao ti one, I like to take my own sweet time to choose something I like
Afterall, u gonna see and use it often.

Was rather surprised to see Yoshihiro Tatsumi in kino today, rare visitor.
Used to like manga, but havnt been reading them these few years.
So that explains the long queue where people are just waiting patiently for their turn to meet him and to allow him to draw something on his latest book "A Drifting Life"
A very talented mangaka I must say :)

Found an awesome shirt from Orchard Ion G2000,
but not buying yet tho the disc price was quite reasonable to me.
Hmm, if only I didnt buy from Natural Proj....

Fruitful Day

Had ntu breakfast with kh in the morning
awesome Set C, still not sick of it, if only megabites can match up to their standard.
Then went to QB Food Trading to check out bbq stuff.
Shocked that their fish fillets are really cheap, the rest are about the same price as bbq wholesale, just a few bucks difference. well its still up to sn's choice. Shall continue to work on the budget later.
then went shopping at JP :)
saw a few nice shirts but price was rather steep. Didnt buy in the end.
And the funniest part of the trip:
I spent 15-20 mins searching for the car in basement 2, which had 750++ lots!!
Sometimes its wise to spend 5 seconds to take down the parking lot no. of the car.

Shall consider and read up more.
Thinking of buying the text, could be useful in future :)

Recently too many stuff just got caught up in my mind,

Perhaps nobody really cares abt it, so why shd I?

First Day of school

So
Sem 2 begins, taking it in my strides this time round.
Yup, as much as I want to get an A in my ese TE, it just didnt happen.
Naturality + Simplicity ---> the formula haha

First day of school started off with the interim presentation which didnt go too badly.
Prof Bai gave Lyon a pretty much clearer focus for him to continue his research.
Felt a bit protective towards myself during the Q& A :s
Sometimes when u do too much of a certain chore, u tend to get lost within,
so its great to have someone to direct you to the right path, guiding you always :)

Managed to bring meiy to Ridgeview Haato today :)
and alright, she got to eat her long-awaited fav cha soba hoho
Its a lil' cafe on the outskirt of a condo. Love the tranquility there.
a place tat I used to frequent when I am feeling down.
and Deph joined us today, we didnt play games tho, just plain eating and chit chat.
Had my first gelato waffle, its quite huge leh, but yeah managed to finish it.
Still think waffle goes well with honey, awesome combo hoho

Fri eating ntu breakfast with kh :)
Sat is Petrina's bday celebration.
Still thinking of going boccia in the morning cuz I miss the kids, hesitating hmm...

I ran 12 rounds today, I hope I counted correctly.
Defying Dr Alice's 'orders' bravely,
but I guess certain decisions have to be made eventually.

Am procrastinating all these while,
I do have results to present, just felt lazy to do up the report and ppt
the fact that my PhD isnt around gave me more reasons to laze around more,
tho I shouldnt, tat I know.

Met up with Raymond and kh yesterday for our quarterly gathering,
great, another item striked off my list.
And I tried the yuanyang from HK cafe for e first time, well, so-so, not really that great.
Coffee + Tea + Milk (nai cha)
Tgt with 2 pieces of prata + honey (great combination) + traditional curry :)
Raymond doin pretty well, both in fyp and love life, really happy for him.
Three of us first met each other in nyjc harmonica orchestra,
yup, MisterLyon plays the harmonica, now the skills a bit rusty tho lol
Still remember those days when we participate in syf and got a silver! hoho

Today came home early with dapao-ed spaggetti from Frontier,
a bit cold after the long bus ride, but then my microwave oven is always there for me.
My best friend always! haha
Wanted to continue doing my presentation but ended up watching a random case of Kindaichi which took like 1.5 hrs.
Time passes really fast when you are having fun :)

Oh and big news!
I found a great place to play pool, cheap rate at $3.80 per hour!! muhahaha

伤口是别人给与的耻辱，自己坚持的幻觉罢了。也许我总是以一个难题的形式出现在感情里，而且渐渐变得自私。很多人不需要再见，因为只是路过而已。遗忘始终就是我们给彼此最好的纪念。

Stay-at-home sunday

First weekend of 2010, guess wat, I fell sick :(
What good timing..hmm...
I had a frightening saturday btw, first part of the day was rather sweet.

Kailuen Mei gave me presents haha, first time! And I really liked the chocolate tho I havnt tasted it yet, sore throat now, but I am really to tackle them soon :P and a Blue Energy spray, apple smell, lol, nice. Thanks! Uncle hen xi huan! haha

Hmm, then went vivo to shop with kh, but didnt stay long.
Headache was so tormenting tat I had to leave. Really felt bad leaving him alone.
Took Mrt home, and i actually vomitted outside Serangoon station, the timing was so nice tat that 'thing' went onto the grass.
Dizzy and trembling :x

So its a bit of fever + sore throat + stomachache + vomitting...

Have decided not to countdown to the day anymore,
time passes so fast when I do that...

Before I move on, congrats to Black Eyed Peas! They did it again, "I Gotta Feeling" is the top song of 2009. Great job. This year I wasnt glued to the radio for the countdown, somehow I had the feeling that my prediction will come true. Yup, FEELING, sometimes this word frustrates me, don't ask me why, sometimes I am mysteriously dazzled too;

So the last few days of 2009...

Day 7 - Dec 29

Woke up pretty late, but just in time to send Sinwen off for her SEP. Going to Ontario, Canada, which is a beautiful place in winter. A place where I wanted to visit last time, but didnt had the time to. Wishing her the best of lucks!

I was in her shoe exactly 1 year ago, flying to somewhere faraway from home, learning to be an independent MisterLyon. Sometimes I do wonder, have I really achieved that?

Day 8 - Dec 30

Went to sch, intending to perform some PCR on those samples that my PhD left for me before she flew back home. But then the microbiology room isnt ready. And most of the PhD and lab staff didnt even come or went on holidays. In the end, I helped out in the unpacking till 2pm, then went AMK hub to meet Hongyuan, who is flying off on New yrs eve to Finland. Amazed that he actually prepared 5 credit cards to bring over, shd I call it kiasu? Hmm, perhaps it is just an additional form of security.

Day 9 - Dec 31

New Year’s Eve. It was a lazy morning and I woke up at 9, but was lying in bed till 10. Decided to lunch at the newly renovated AMK 628 food center, but the stalls weren’t ready for business yet. It has been 2 years after the food center was burnt down. But I still visit my fav lemon chicken rice stall quite often.

Picked up meiy and we went to Sembawang Park to do a little ‘reccee’ on Petrina’s upcoming bday celebration. Somehow I had some memories that I have been there when I was young. I have seen my childhood photos of me and my cousins at a beach with park stools which looked like dice. I guess tats Sembawang Park, haha. It was really windy that afternoon, then it started to drizzle when we left. Had some fun on the swing, tho I am like over-aged, but then nowadays it’s so difficult to find a swing and seesaw. Do they still exist?

So our last part of the day was spent at Pasir Ris Park with a bbq to bring the year to the end. The sambal fish from bbq wholesale was something which I really liked. Satay wasn’t too bad so it was a wise choice to order from them. Everybody had fun with sparklers, it was a memorable night after all! Hmm, somehow my little wish came true, a bbq gathering with kiaj n gang, dephne and petrina coming along to join us. Thanks to Joan who organize the event :)
