Just arrived home.
Design Project meeting till 8pm today.
Spent the whole day ‘diffusing bombs’, realized some fatal error, trying to salvage..
Certain group member not cooperating well, sloppy work :(
While others are slogging their guts out to put together the end product…
As the leader, it breaks my heart to see them work till late, attempting to save the situation.
MisterLyon learns a lot from these girls, lucky to be part of the team :)

Missed today's morning class. Pain was too strong for me to wake at 530.
Then quarrelled with my mum.
Getting frustrated with her own views.
Went sch, came back, a lil pissed.
and because of some certain events in Dec, I can't go Beijing to backpack :(
Wanna see doc, but I can't :(

Bursting with anger, and a lil bit of fear.
Appetite dropped to the lowest point, just afraid, dunnoe why :s
Running out on Remeron. Checked the date of purchase: 6th Aug 2008.
Too many things to say, but I don't wanna complain, its just not me.
Keeping everything to myself, cuz I don't wanna let it out and bother other pple when they are already busy with their own life.

Sharon's Bday Party

Just came back from Sharon's 21st Birthday Party held at Guilin View which houses nice and tall condominiums. Jason's relatives live on the 30th floor. Too bad I didnt have the chance to see Guilin's Lake.

Went to J8 tat afternoon to shop for Yumiko but didnt find any. Somehow I thought that would be the ideal gift for Sharon. Couldnt find it so had to find a substitute soft toy which Siewnoi carefully chose, haha. Was really last minute, but was good timing cuz when I paid the cashier, Deph called. So drove to pick up meiy and jaslin and off to bukit batok, a place where I always lose my directions, but not today. Somehow I am more familiar with this area now :)

Food was nice, esp the marinated chicken wings. Went early to do deco for the place and meiy did a really pretty banner for her. Then I went to get the cake which I thot was a huge one. 2kg Carrot cake, homebaked by the chef himself. Nice =) There wasnt enuf charcoal (Jason bought only 1 kg -_-''') so I volunteered to head out and buy...went to a few nearby neighbourhood area, was getting a bit frustrated when many shops did not sell charcoal at all, now I know 7 eleven doesnt sell this kind of thing. Perhaps only those at chalet will have charcoal for sale. But in the end I found it, the pebble charcoal which looked rather cute. Didnt eat much also, not very hungry even tho I was infront of the pit for a couple of hours.

and today I broke my record, I think I unknowingly covered all of the expressways except TPE...lol....Let me see, I went on SLE, BKE and KJE to bukit batok. PIE and AYE to South buona vista to collect cake. Lastly, CTE, KPE and ECP to send Jaslin home. I just realized :p

Now back to DP. Its getting a bit uncomfortable on my side already. Lots of problems to solve :(

Time flies

Tmr is 24 oct, a simple yet significant date to me for the past 2 years.
But this year onwards, its gonna be quite different.
Relieving those memories ~

FYP

This morning I came at 730am to do my FYP, was rather eager to know the results because I am now doing something that is new. Or shall I say I am creating my own experiment using local water samples. The results turned out well, at least I have detected some Tetracycline resistance gene.

Feels encouraging to derive some results after numerous expt failures and obtaining negative results.

Working hard for FYP, I really am. I can't let my PhD student down cuz she really taught me a lot and I guess I am really lucky to have met her. Hope that I can produce some great expt discovery for her. Or at least I hope my presence can assist her in some way.

Weird wednesday

Kept myself in Central Library the whole day, its been a while since I actually sat in the library to study. Realized there are too many things on my mind to actually think through, lots of thoughts and questions which have yet to be answered.

On a side note, I have been sleeping regularly these few days. Sounds gd to many pple. Usually not my style. Always wanted to take a short nap but ended up sleeping the whole night. There's a risk of not doing my assignments/proj if I fall asleep this way. There's a TE mid term today but fell asleep yesterday without studying it. Tats not me, but then I guess I am too tired tho I felt I didnt do anything much. Anyway, today just read thru the notes, it was MCQ test, but then I felt I didnt do well. "Unstable" performance today. There's an unknown feeling inside of me telling me that I should not score well because I didnt study enough. Only had a waffle the whole day, bad appitite, but had great KFC supper :D

E-learning Week

The very first E-learning week!

To me, it just felt like it was another recess week. A week that we can catch up with the lectures, tut, projects and also rest :) But somehow the pace slows down suddenly, a bit uncomfortable haha but I am enjoying it. Can I have one more wk??

FYP last sunday. Very cool cuz nobody is in the lab except the few of us. And I realized those phD students who came back to do lab never wear labcoat! Probably because they know nobody is gg to check. I wore, so I seem to be the odd one out. Trying to get as much results to prepare for the interim presentation in December. Nothing fresh yet, still trying out the water samples from Punggol, Yishun and Clementi. PCR is quite easy to do, somehow I can remember the procedures after doing it a few times. Then I have to deal with agar again, refreshed memories from ese3301 lab. This time round I have to prepare an agar, poked 30 small wells for me to inject my 3 uL mixture into them. Then finally, use UV to check if there is any resistence gene. The whole process takes ...ermm....a whole day, 9-5 ba...depending on number of samples. The tue night where I stayed till 1030pm, we did abt 220 samples :x I am starting to mix around with the ese lab staff and phD students, nice people who will make me feel at home. Then last sunday we ate mooncake in the office, 'wu ren' mooncake, nice! :D

Monday morning I was so tired that I slept on bus 165 till Clementi interchange, all the way to the bus park!!! haha, then the uncle came up and said: "Eh, 你还没有走啊？"
lol...So embarrassing! Like what Aunty Lucy always said :p

Ate breakfast on Tue and Wed with meiy :D
Its been a while since I ate at Olive....missed their maple french toast while in US.

Ooohh...and today, somehow I "landed" myself in MegaBites (like aliens from UFO, lol)....Then I saw the breakfast promotion!! Looks so much like my fav breakfast from NTU! $2.50 only with coffee :)I am gg to try it very very soon....muhahaha...

Whee…..The PARTY song for Summer 2009!!

This is the phenomenon year for them as the Peas set a new U.S. pop chart record with the longest successive No. 1 streak on the Billboard Hot 100. "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling" spent an incredible combined 26 weeks at No. 1. An awesome start for their new album ‘The E.N.D’, aka The Energy Never Dies.

A feel-good song. It has an abrupt change in musical style from the electro of “Boom Boom Pow”, but this is their trademark, Musical Eclecticism! Havn’t heard from the Peas for a few years, thought they were breaking up when Fergie and Will.I.Am released their own production. Luckily nope…they don’t seem to do very well when they venture out alone anyway.

This is the only song that peaked on the Sg chart for 3 consecutive weeks this year. Big question….Could this be the song of the year? ?
