Cdans Bowling
U may think it is crazy to drive all the way to Bukit Batok just to play bowling, but to me, I don't really mind. Cdans Starbowl is having a June promotion and the price of one game is only 2 bucks. Where can u find such a good deal nowdaes? Really had a good time playing with such a competitive partner like G. I think he had been secretly training, no wonder he got 150 points in one of 4 games. My highest was only 117. Havnt been playing for 2 yrs or so...somehow the ball did not spin in the right direction today....hmm..nvm, going to bowl very soon again.

Bras Basah - A place to sell old books
Went to Bras Basah Complex with G to sell his books. 5 big bags of old assessment and textbks for $60. Looks to me that he is quite contented with this amt partly because some of those were just given to him or bought at really cheap cost. The salesman kept on shaking his head while G opened up those bags one by one. I guess he didnt expect the huge number of books coming in and looking at the size of his shop, I think he would have a hard time finding a space to store those books. Anywae, we went for ice cream again, this time at Northpoint. Chocolate Crunch yummy. Must thank G for the treat. Xie Xie....

Wireless Up!
Finally bought a broadband wireless router after a few months of planning and saving. I still regret not upgrading my ethernet modem to a wireless one when I signed up for the new Singnet Broadband plan less than a yr ago. Anywae, the installation was so frustrating, so angry that I didnt have the appetite for dinner. There was one moment when my Desktop didnt have any net connection at all. So helpless, couldnt even call the Singtel people...But after some help from my cousin, I am now typing my first blog entry in my own room......yippie...
Though it’s the hols now, but the boredom is killing me. Well, I did manage to go online at least once a day but I am just too lazy to post an entry or even log on to MSN. Started to play Utopia again, ya after resting for a couple of years. No particular reason, just hope that I could get involved in some games before going back to the books in Aug. The game rules have changed drastically, so much that I even have problems growing and keeping myself away from attacks. I guess I need more time to adjust to the game and grow bigger and bigger each day.
Lin Zuan is coming to NUS this Aug, majoring in Pure Maths. No surprise to me coz he is a Maths freak, just like I am a Chem freak. We are just “freaking” in different areas…haha…Really miss the time when we go running and swimming together, preparing for NS. He has finally ORDed, and is now doing research for his upcoming semester, using his gf’s IVLE. Ya, that’s how gan jiong he is. But it is always good to be well prepared for anything in life. He really wants his first class honors, who doesn’t?
Went to Mustafa Centre last Sat to purchase a simple radio for my Mum. Nope, not a gift to her. She is just buying it on behalf of her social dancing group. A simple radio with only FM and cassette, cost only 19 bucks without batt. I have never been there myself before as I feel that it is no different from other shopping mall. But I realize a lot of things are sold at a cheaper price there. Oh ya, also had a hard time communicating with the Indian salesman. I know that he is speaking English, but I simply can’t figure out what he is talking about. Haiz…another reason why I dun like to go there….Btw, I am not discriminating against Indians, though I have a lot of “horror” experience with them in army. But that’s all in the past….
Really excited about the bowling session at Cdans this coming Wednesday. I hope G doesn’t cancel it. Going to remind him on Tue. Oh, not forgetting the outing with Kh, Miz, Jason and Raymond this Thurs. S***, I predict I am going to spend quite a lot dis week…
Song Recommendation of the Week:
Avril Lavigne - When You're Gone
haha..I know I am biased, always recommending songs from my favourite female singer. But it really takes a lot of effort to master this song. U need someone with strong and sweet vocals, and she can do it. This song shifts the pacing from the frenetic head-banging of “Girlfriend” to a pensive, piano-driven power ballad. No more "Hey Hey You You" liaoz. A touching video to go along with it, featuring three different relationships in different age groups: A husband leaving his pregnant wife for war, a senior who has lost his wife and a teen couple forbidden to be together. A bit like her previous hit "Nobody's Home".
Check out the chorus:
Btw, I give this song 4.0 out of 5 星星s....

And make it OK
I miss you

Quote of happiness
"The belief that youth is the happiest time of life is founded on fallacy. The happiest person is the person who thinks the most interesting thoughts, and we grow happier as we grow older."
~William Lyon Phelps
Song Recommendation of the Week:
Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder
It really makes me wonder why they can actually spend 5 years to come up with a 2nd album. Wonder why their album was named “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long”. Their debut album was such a success, releasing 4 hit singles. “She Will Be Loved” is by far their best ballot ever. This new album provides no surprises. It seems that the band is again mining a similar pop-soul vein to the breakthrough smash hit "This Love." After listening to their new songs, I feel that they have somehow gone retro….feels like they are doing a cover for those songs in the 70s…
Btw, I give this song 3.0 out of 5 星星s....

Intern thoughts
Met up with Minghui dis afternoon. Initially she had invited me to join her for lunch but I couldnt make it until 3pm. Wanted to treat her to ice cream coz her birthday tmr mah, but in the end we spent most of our time taking down prices of fridges and aircons in AMK NTUC and Courts. She is currently working as an intern in NEA and doing some kind of surveying as part of her job. Didnt spent too much time in NTUC coz there were onli a few sets on display. At first, I thought it shdnt be that difficult. But when I reached Courts, lolxx, u wouldnt want to imagine how many aircons and fridges were there. Assisted her to copy down the prices of fridges while she tackle the aircons. If I wasnt there, she might just spend her night camping in Courts....lucky her, managed to leave at 7.30pm, a few hours left before she turns 21....
Have always wanted to work as an intern in NEA or organisations related to wat I am majoring now coz I believe that it is always an advantage to gain some experience before I step into the workforce a few years from now. However, I always have this belief that what I am studying now may not be applicable in future. Grades are not everything. It is just that piece of paper that determines how much u will be paid. Wonder how true is that......

Great Singapore Sale is irresistable
First week of June was well spent, tiring week but a fruitful one. Who can resist the Great Singapore Sale? Definitely not me…hehe…I know it is wise to buy now or else later the GST hike starts, then I lugi leh. And some things I suddenly walk by and fall in love with them, I can’t really resist that temptation. Wat to do…buy lor, of cos must see whether the price reasonable a not la. Went for prata with G last Sat, ya, that same place again, next time must post picture of that shop liaoz. Egg Cheese prata and kopi tarek still rock la….I really dun mind having them everyday. lolx…..Since G wants to shop, we went to Causeway Point that afternoon. Ironically, I didn’t spend a cent. Partly becos I was quite broke la, so start to practice window shopping lor....
Now addicted to the Hongkong drama, To Get Unstuck In Time 隔世追凶, shown on Channel U, every wkday 10pm. A crime officer investigating a series of homicides with all suspects linked back to events 20 years ago. He is able to communicate with his dad across boundaries of time via tat old mobile phone. Cool huh…Good If there was such a phone in real life, then can tok to myself when I was 20 years ago..hmm…that would be me when I was 1 year old….oh, nvm then…time to get back to reality….
Song Recommendation of the Week:
Rihanna Featuring Jay-Z - Umbrella
This girl was well known for her no. 1 hits such as “Pon De Replay” and “Unfaithful”. R and B sensation Rihanna is now back, trying her best to shed her innocent image with her new offering, titled "Good Girl Gone Bad”, of course featuring the first single “Umbrella” on which she collaborated with the legendary rapper Jay-Z, one of the writers for this song. She has once revealed that she wanted to evolve from the innocent and naive tag. Well, that remains to be seen. Even though she is now back with a new rock chick image, her voice remains the same. “Umbrella” may not be as catchy as her previous hits, but the chorus is so repetitive that u will chant along with her singing, “Under my umbrella, ella ella, eh eh eh….”

I need some Luck!
Feeling really unlucky ever since the hols started. First it was back injury and can u believe it? I just recovered from a fever that arised a few days ago. Sighz...I just hope that I can happily enjoy the last 2 mths of freedom. Slept too long le, having a unbearable headache and sucking on Lozenge as I am typing this entry.
On the bright side, My ex-S1 (Manpower Officer), CPT Jason is getting married. Surprised that he actually called n invited me to his wedding dinner. I am really happy for him. Actually, he got engaged last year and I thot he got married without informing us. Frankly speaking, I really don't mind having him as my boss for the rest of my life. 2 years of working under him, he is really a nice and protective boss. Always shielded us from all arrows coming from my other "boss". hehe, I bet Jonathan will get him drunk on his wedding nite. Jon was the best drinker of 165 Sqn Orderly Room..But I don't think we would have a chance to work with this kind boss again. Maybe when I go ICT lor....Anywae, wishing him an everlasting marriage and Sir, I owe u a big Thank You for all the help u have given us during our NS life.

Back to normal

Song Recommendation of the Week:
Mutya Buena - Real Girl
She was formally from the Sugababes and left the band in late 2005, starting on her solo music career. If u are a Lenny Kravitz's fan, u shd realise that this song also features a sample of his hit "It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over". In this debut single, she tells us how she is a real girl, she's true to herself and what you see is what you get. Btw, if u did not know, she had already given birth to her first child with her boyfriend Chris in early 2005. This may be one of the reasons for her leaving the band. Who knows?
Btw, I give this song 3.0 out of 5 星星s....
