Deep thoughts....empty

A lot of simple things that you do can brighten up my day.
Even a simple goodbye from u can make me feel important.
At least you know that I am around.
Your guardian angel is always here with you.
And I don't mind being yours...

Song Recommendation of the Week:
The Click Five - Empty

Seriously, they have never done slow ballads before and I have always enjoyed their rock songs which are really hot and catchy. This new album really shows much more maturity than their debut "Greetings from Imrie House". New frontman, Kyla Patrick fits seamlessly into the band and has given them a brand new touch. “Empty” is a song that will get you thinking about the relationship that's falling apart. Btw, not many good ballads emerge this year round. So far, this is the best…Close your eyes, listen to his vocals…..

"Maybe we're trying
Trying too hard
Maybe we're torn apart
Maybe the timing
Is beating our hearts
We're empty"

Btw, I give this song 4.5 out of 5 星星s....

Summer mood

Feeling very tired these few days, dun really have the motivation to start doing my tutorials whenever I reached home. This is bad, cuz I believe most of the time I would understand the topic thru the tutorials rather than the boring lectures. Flunk my struc quiz yesterday, torsion was so easy, yet I did the wrong method, kind of had a mental block that time....My level of interest for hydraulics is dropping drastically, yea, now still quite blur abt the second part, maybe becuz I dun like the lecturer. Ivle test tmr, havnt study...how?? :x

Now at home feeling sleepy........Zzz....Weather so hot la!!!

Song Recommendation of The Week:
Colbie Caillat - Bubbly

A simple, straightforward, sunny pop tune. She possesses a clean, pure and pleasing voice. Somehow, the atmosphere is like having a friend sitting down by the campfire and singing a favorite song for you. If u really like this song, I recommend u check out her debut album “Coco”. This sun-kissed single is just one of the many lofty mid-tempo numbers about rain on windowpanes and of course love. I must say she mixes guitar strings and drums pretty well….not too shabby for a new singer….

Btw, I give this song 3.0 out of 5 星星s.

Hectic week

Year 2 is nv easy to survive, but I am glad I am still hanging on, despite all the mind boggling assignments coming from 6 different mods, and of cuz work from cca which is nv ending. ChESS welfare survey done, results out (transferred manually to excel, imagine counting the responses from twelve different surveys, not fun at all...).

Actually quite sad this wk, other than the sch work, also the shocking news that my favourite market/food centre is now burnt to ashes. Really cannot underestimate the power of fire. AMK blk 628 market caught fire on Tue night, and I was actually there that afternoon having lunch, 6 hrs before the fire started, and that was the last time I saw the market. I really love the food there, nasi lemak, lemon chicken rice, fried carrot cake...and lots more...Have been going there since young, even now I shifted to Srgoon North, I still prefer driving myself there just to da pao my fav food.

On the cheerful side, officially now 22. First time spending my birthday resting in bed. Yup, fell sick again one day before, really zun leh, but I still managed to attend sch on Fri , partly becos I dun wanna miss ctw lesson again. Furthermore, she gave back our critique which I am quite satisfied with the grading. So thats her bdae present to me...haha...Talking abt that, really surprised some of my frends actually do remember my bdae. Hee...Thanks to all (meiy, minghui, chenlu,wangqi....)for the cards, the prezies, the sms wishes...lol.. Some are on the way...haha.....As i told qt, Mister Lyon likes everything that pple give him. He is just greedy lah...Oops..! :x

To 'O' :

Even though I nv receive anything from u, I am still glad that we spent quite some time in the morning sms-ing each other.....:) Lets Jiayou together k...

A step further

Havn't been blogging for a while, now back to the one-wk-one-post routine. 2 more tuition sessions and I will be free, yay, finally is the 'O's next wk. Excited even though I am not taking. Good luck to Jeremy, hope u dun make too many careless mistakes, hopefully not even one okay. 18 sessions with u have boosted my confidence to be a better tutor in future. Hope u would get into your desired poly. Jiayou!

Happy belated birthday to Meiy! Haha...hope u like the 'Meiy' neckless. We are now in our twenties le, welcome! Stay pretty and cheerful always.

Bro, I nv forget u la. Happy B-day to u too! Going out to my best buddy Quanfu who is going ORD soon. Enjoy your days in NYAA, hope u can meet your special one soon.

And to u, 9 more days, is your turn le.....

Song Recommendation of The Week:
Backstreet Boys - Inconsolable

Could u believe it? They are back with a highly anticipated brand new album “Unbreakable” and they still sound good, especially in their heart breaking songs. I can still remember their previous love ballets, “Shape Of My Heart” and “More Than That”. “Inconsolable”, this new single of theirs is so beautiful not only because of its melody, but also for its depth. Was a bit worried for the band when Kevin left last summer and they are now down to 4. Nevertheless, they still retain their original BSB voice….Album dropping in music stores 30 Oct…..worth buying worz…

Btw, I give this song 3.5 out of 5 星星s.

Photos up...

My Structural Analysis lab group! Nice work everyone!

Song Recommendation of The Week:
Sean Kingston – Me Love

This Jamaican American pop singer is only 17, yet he has already had major success this summer with his number one hit “Beautiful Girls”. He is back again with a song all about lost love. “Me Love” kicks off with the irresistible hook, sampling Led Zeppelin classic "D'Yer Mak'er". A fun song to chill out to and it really tells a story that people can relate to. Just by listening to the “Oh, oh, oh….” part brightens up my day…

Not enough sleep....

Now in lib discussion room, waiting for rola and coral to arrive for research paper discussion. Yes, 9am on a saturday. Normally, I would wake at 7am or 6.30am if i wanna have breakfast in sch. If i dun drive, I need to leave my house latest by 6.45am for a 9am lesson, cuz if I leave later than that, I would arrive after 9am due to stupid traffic jams along Bukit Timah Rd. Actually feeling very tired at this moment, these few days were jamed packed with assignments and mid term tests. Hydraulics and stats tests were okay, jus that I may have screwed up the descriptive part of stats....lolx, okay, I admit i only started studying 1 day before.

'O' Lvl A maths 2-3 wks later, good thing is I can have a full saturday to myself after that. Of cuz, on the other hand, I am also worried for Jeremy. Preventing carelessless in Maths is one thing that cannot be taught. His prelim results were out and he failed his overall paper by 6 marks, so abt 40 plus percent. Went thru the paper with him, his foundation is okay, just that he always like to take short cuts, causing a lot of careless mistakes.

My top 5 song list has been updated. Akon's "Dont Matter" has been kicked off by Rihanna's "Umbrella". Year end countdown coming soon, very excited. Will talk abt that somewhere in Dec.

Structural project done and over with. 4 groups presented their designs yesterday, we were all worried and anxious abt how much difference is the actual failure load vs predicted load. Of cuz, the smallest the difference, the better it is la. My group has a difference of abt 2.8KN, not the best difference. Best group has 0.9KN diff. Worse one has more than 3.5KN. Pics of the beam before and after.

Didnt want to do more damage to the beam, so we requested Mr Kamsam to stop the machine le. Poor thing, Imagine u were the beam, and there is a load on top of u, now the beam is 'permanently disabled'.

Infra proj finishing soon, I am so glad.....

Thinking back....

Really time flies, October le....means to say Mister Lyon will soon be another year older, also implies that he needs to take his dreaded IPPT for this new window. Have been "tortured" mentally these few weeks, by assignments, tuitions, projects and lots more. A lot of things not done as scheduled, hence a lot of last min work which generated low quality results. I really need to attend time management courses. Have been doing a lot of things which are not impt, but I just feel like doing. I usually have a plan, but most of the time, I chose to go without one. As a result, I can understand that a few of my frends ain't happy with my attitude. I can't control what others think of me, and I really don't want to cuz I believe that when things happen naturally, they bring out the most unexpected results. For those mistakes that I have made, those people I have indirectly offended, I really hope I have a chance to apologize.

Song Recommendation of The Week:
Timbaland Featuring One Republic - Apologize

He is well acknowledged as one of music’s most inventive and distinctive creators. Yet, in his new single “Apologize” which he collaborated with One Republic, it was realized that he is making very minimal vocal contributions as the lead singer of One Republic, Ryan Tedder, sings his way through an evoking tale of lost love. Amazing video to go with this ballet/rock song, really sets your mind thinking what’s actually happening. Simple chorus but catchy beat, of cuz produced by the man Timbaland himself !

Btw, I give this song 3.5 out of 5 星星s.
