Ring! Ring! Long awaited recess week is finally here….

Time to catch up on the lectures, tutorials, assignments, projects….Arggg!

Of coz not forgetting SLEEP…

No school this week, so let’s take some time to relax and enjoy the following song…really nice worz...no bluff...really...

Song Recommendation of The Week:
Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens – You Are The Music In Me

Theme song taken off from High School Musical 2 soundtrack. Previously, they duet on the song “Breaking Free”, now back with the highly anticipated movie which I haven’t seen. Once again, girls are going gaga over lead star Zac Efron. Diaoz! Vanessa Hudgens is real hot...haha..Really dig this tune, their vocals are still as unique. A song that everyone can sing along to, Nana Nana…Nana Nana....there u go....lolx..

"When I hear my favorite song
I know that we belong
Oh, you are the music in me
Yeah it's living in all of us
And it's brought us here because
Because you are the music in me"

Btw, I give this song 4.0 out of 5 星星s.

Physical Training for Mister Lyon

Taking a break from my uncertainty assignment, too tedious le. Everytime give us 4 x 4 matrix, somemore not whole number, all decimals…sianz..now I realize that I am pressing a lot more frequently on my calculator. Poor thing…I hope it wun break down. :P

Yesterday went for coastal cleanup but I din even approach the coast at all….not even near. lolxx…Was with Benedict all along, we were responsible for removing the trash away from the reserve, dumping them at the “Ultimate trash collection point”. Fun but tiring. Imagine pushing 10 filled trash bags up the grass slope, still got “hump” (Big tree root) along the way. I kept telling Benedict not to stop, coz it requires a lot of strength to start pushing again. So we perserve….good training lah… Weird thing is that I am not suffering from any muscle ache today. I should be lucky that I still have the strength to do my assignments. Then it rained heavily yesterday morning, caught in the rain again. But today I am okay wat, no cold, sore throat whatever. Still can go teach tuition lehz…haha…I think I better dun say too much….later hor…aiyo..touchwood!

Yeah! Structural lab project almost settled. Beam is fabricated finally after 4.5 hrs. I am the only guy in my group, so must do the sawing worz. A bit tough initially coz it has been 6-7 years since I did technical work and sawing really requires physical strength. I really can’t do carpentry work lah. Anyway, it was quite fun lor, especially doing the assembly. I kept on doing drilling and riveting, my groupmate said I work like a robot. Sawing is the worse, riveting more relax. So now the “big” thing is done, next lab session would be to “test” (destroy) the beam for failure. I can’t bear to do it lah, after all the hard work. But if dun destroy, no marks awarded…haha…hope our failure prediction load is as accurate as possible. The nearer to the actual failure load, the higher marks we would get. Think I must “talk” to the beam…..crazy me.

Song Recommendation of The Week:
James Blunt - 1973

Remember the song “You’re Beautiful”? That was a major hit 2 years ago. Back then, I was quite amazed at his sexy vocals. Though that song enjoyed major success, I was a lil’ disappointed at the boring video. Till now, I still could not believe he actually took off his clothes one by one in the video, nothing else, just removing clothes and jumping into the sea. Lol….

So I am quite eager to find out how interesting is his new video “1973”, also the first single taken off the keenly awaited album 'All The Lost Souls', now already released. The video, in which a he strolls among '70s street scenes, reflects the song's nostalgic tone. Pretty impressive attempt, at least better than “You’re Beautiful” video. Anyway, “1973” was written about a time when this 33-year-old singer was not yet born. Of course he has to collaborate with some famous people to bring out the essence of this retro song…..

With proper marketing, I think this could be “You’re Beautiful” Part 2. Time will tell….but I doubt that it would attain the same level of success……

Btw, I give this song 3.5 out of 5 星星s.

Updates....

Okie, time for updates. Had the habit of bloggin at least on every Monday, but this wk, well I guess I have to make an exception. A whole chunk of things happened this past 2 wks, tink I would jus list down those I can rem at this moment, lol.

Was sick for another consecutive week, though I thot I was on the road of recovery for rashes. Somehow I was caught in the rain last Mon and immediately had a cold the day after. Sadly, I have to cancel another session of tuition with Jeremy. Within this mth, cancelled two sessions already, all becos of my weak constitution. Actually wanted to revise as much as I can with him last wk since it was his hols. In the end, I planned a "last min" slot for him on last Fri since I thot I was in a gd condition to think and teach. Anyway, his prelim results would be out soon, I am crossing my fingers and toes for him. Really....I hope his parents are able to see the improvement in his A Maths after 3 mths of tuition.

Last sat spent the day at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Briefing session on the actual cleanup happening dis sat. The turn-out was okay, though I had expected more to come. Anyway, we took a walk to our cleanup area, sad to see so much trash on the coast. We really need to put in more effort to keep the coast clean. Hopefully dis sat, I can see the transformation, if possible I would capture the "before" and"after" photos.

Finally hydraulics lab is over and report submitted. Thanks to this report that I could actually have a chance to stay over in sch on Tue. Forcing myself not to fall asleep in the wee hours isn't easily. But I managed to type out all the stuff by the next morning, an hour just before my first lesson started. 1 day to type out this report isn't sufficient. This is one of the hardest report I ever embarked on. But the performing of the expt itself was okay, only took 1.5 hrs. Luckily, I had prepared some portions of the report beforehand. So much for being a good boy and reading up on the manual the day before. haha....

Lastly, must thank Ocean for coaching me the iteration process so that I could complete my uncertainty assignment on time. Really paiseh, didn't kno u were having a long dist phone conversation with ur parents. U are really a nice gal. Xie le....

Okay, going for GEM lecture now...tata!

Tired.......bored....

Hee...actually don't feel like blogging, a lot of things to do but don't have the mood to even start doing.

Yay! The spots are disappearing, no need to apply "liquid paper" le....

Coastal cleanup coming soon, looking forward to it....

Song Recommendation of The Week:
Good Charlotte – Dance Floor Anthem (I Don’t Wanna Be In Love)

Personally I feel that this is one band who deserves to go very far in their music career. Their music is not really rock but lies somewhere in between pop and punk. Just listen to their new album “Good Morning Revival” and you would realize that every song in it has a significant meaning to them. Their brand new hit "Dance Floor Anthem" is more progressive 80's rock full of the dynamics of this new era. Thumbs up for the video too. Lol..Hospital hallway turns into a dance club. Even the nurses are dancing leh....These guys are amazingly crazy…..just like the beat and tune of this song……

Everybody
Put up your hands
Say:”I don’t wanna be in love, I don’t wanna be in love”
Feel the beat now
If you’ve got nothing left
Say:”I don’t wanna be in love, I don’t wanna be in love”
Back it up now
You’ve got a reason to live
Say:”I don’t wanna be in love, I don’t wanna be in love”
Feeling good now
Don’t be afraid to get down
Say:”I don’t wanna be in love, I don’t wanna be in love”

Btw, I give this song 4.5 out of 5 星星s.

Back in action

Okie, decided to pen something on this fri morning, since I have no lessons for this first half of the day. Back to sch though the rashes have not fully recovered, it takes time. But I am glad to see spots disappearing each day, lucky that no new ones emerged. Don't really trust Mt Alvernia docs anymore, maybe I shouldnt have gone there for consulation in the first place. Two different docs gave me different diagnosis. I wouldnt believe it was chicken pox, as diagnosed by the first doc. His words sort of convinced me that it happened to me the second time. Okie, so I was given some antibiotics which cost abt 60 bucks, of coz including the consultation and all that, I ended up paying 100 bucks. Two days later, was told to consult the same doc but he wasnt on duty, so another doc examined the spots again and smiled at me, "pity rosea", thats what he said. A bit stunned initially. So it is not chicken pox lah. The worse thing is I have to purchase another set of med. Antibiotics, well, I was told not to take anymore. Wtf, I have only taken like a few tablets lor...wasted lah.....

EVE gathering yesterday with head. A bit bored by his talk, but luckily it didnt take long. Tink most of us turned up, really glad. Disappointed that someone I expected to see didn't appear, but never mind. Anyway, I think they should have taken a class photo yesterday but maybe it slipped their mind. The only pic I have for my class is the one taken at the welcome tea. haha....

Lastly, Happy Teachers Day to all in the teaching profession, including all tuition teachers. In fact, I think all of us are considered "teachers", we teach each other new things everyday. We learn from each other, don't we....

Rashes

Currently down with some rashes, Sad things always come together….haiz…

Wun be in sch for a wk or so, and no webcast also, sianz…Got to read up the text....

Spraying liquid paper (lotion) on those itchy spots everyday…..

Song Recommendation of The Week:
Eve Featuring Sean Paul – Give It To You

Really like the pairing of these two singers. The Caribbean-tinged, “Give It To You” is the first single taken from Eve’s new album, Here I Am. Perhaps this song should be credited to dancehall reggae star, Sean Paul who always gets most of the spotlight. Never mind if u can’t catch the lyrics of this song coz no one can really understand what Sean Paul is rapping or singing. It doesn’t really matter though, just enjoy the beat and dance lor…

Btw, I give this song 4.0 out of 5 星星s.

Bad Day

To the Malay cyclist kid that I almost knocked down today :

Consider yourself lucky today that I stopped in time. I wouldn't say the same for other drivers. Please go and learn when is the right time to cycle across the road, not when the "red man" is on and vehicles are about to move off. So what u are a cyclist? Life is precious, u only have one, so cherish it well.

Frankly speaking, I am really pissed with you. Good luck...

Salsa?

Finally decided which tutorial timeslots to ballot for...Most of the mods share the same timeslot lor. Whats there to decide? haha....hmm, a few days ago, qt asked me to join salsa with her, she wants me to be her partner. lolx....I cant imagine myself doing social dance. Can u? Maybe I consider.....can destress....:p

Sitting beside Ocean today for 6 hrs and talking to her really made my day. Hoping for more chances to come....Really cherish those moments....

Song Recommendation of The Week:
Corrinne May – On The Side Of Me

U probably have seen the TV ad for her new album “Beautiful Seed”. Local singer-songwriter back with more songs which describe her life and spiritual experiences. I really admire her voice and her works. She draws a lot of inspiration and writes a lot of songs which people find it easy to relate to. Really heartfelt lyrics for this song that is all about the power of love. Nice piano tune….

Everyone needs a friend to hold
when it's cold outside
and there's no place to go
Everyone needs a friend to hold
all alone I cried
there was no place to go
I remember when nobody cared
but you
