Breakfast Hunt

Left: Wah Yen Eating House, Blk 23 Sin Ming Road

Ordered the wrong type of bread actually. Wanted to have the Roti John Bread toast with butter and kaya. But this isnt too bad either. The cold creamy butter is pretty satisfying, at least to me.
They said the coffee is special, but I doubt so. Probably a few more tries bah!

Right: Seng Hong Coffeeshop, Blk 58 Lengkok Bahru

Steamed Lohti (bread)! Hardly see them around these days. Warm and soft with kaya and a small thin slice of butter. Sweet!

Commencement (3)

10 July 2010

I have never attended a prom night before in my life. Last year was part of org comm (not counted). So this was my very first which explains the ‘headache’ I had of finding a suitable attire for this event. Somehow I always think that Grad Dinner is a great way to end off graduation. Academy Awards was the theme! Opened up my wardrobe, chose a vest, white shirt, black pants, and end it off with a skinny tie and a hat. Frankly speaking, I don’t possess that fashion sense because I don’t really spend much time on my dress code whenever I go out. Anws, I did prepare a set of blazer and kept it in the car boot. Didn’t use it though haha.

Day started out in the mid afternoon. Picked Meiy up, send her to J8 for make-up session (took 45 mins but make-up artist quite pro), then we headed for IKEA to get nice flowers for the grad dinner comm. Really thought of her! and I didnt know IKEA got such lobang haha. Fake flowers but a fresh colourful combination can easily appear if u just put a few stalks tgt. Bought 15 stalks, still not enough for the group cuz we really dunno whats the actual size of the comm also. And I almost wanted to cut a stalk to stick to my vest. Crazy idea but was aborted hoho.

The Gracious Angel holding the flowers :)

Venue was Rosewood@Orchard Hotel, just opposite the Forum, located at the pretty secluded corner in town. I really like the design of the lobby, and there are 4 different clocks of various countries around the world + the piano.

Pardon this photo, ermm..my camera not very good la. Lolx.

Was surprised to receive the Social Butterfly award cuz I already had somebody in mind who will definitely fit the description. Didnt prepare any thank-u speech, so was rather stumbled for words.

I love that polaroid photo lol :)

The graduated class of 2010 !

With the Welfare comm

The Grad Dinner Org Comm, THANK U!

It was a great success despite the low turnout and I can really feel the effort being put in by my juniors. Great company and nice food to end the day:) It couldn't get better than this!
................

11 July 2010

Stayed over with the juniors at Orchard Hotel till sunday.
we had like more than 10 pple squeezed in a room.
Nursed a mild gastric while watching world cup 3rd/4th place finish. Germany won!
3rd place haha, alright, better than 4th ok hehe...

So Meiy and I headed over to sch to attend the Sci Fac convo. Arrived there just in time. It was Raymond's graduation :) Congrats! Got to know him from JC, and together with kh, three of us were in the Harmonica Orchestra. His hands were full of flowers, bears, and also the BIG BIG photo album that Iza created. It was really nicely done and I felt rather inferior at the one I made...and I think next time when three of us hang out tgt, we shd take LOTS LOTS photos!
The only photo we took in JC was the Harmonica SYF full orchestra photo lolxx. We dun have that xi guan to take photos when we go out. but then we seldom hang out also, maybe like 3-4 times a year. haha...the busy school days are over. It is probably more difficult to meet up when we are working. But nevertheless, shd always try to keep in contact yeps.

After the convo, went out for lunch with Meiy and her St Nics gang at Marina sq. Reached home at 530pm. Quick dinner before falling into slumberland, ya, cuz I only slp for 15 mins on the nice comfortable sofa in the hotel room muhaha...

Song Recommendation of the Month: July 2010

Title: 우리 정말 사랑했어요 We Really Loved Each Other
Artiste: Navi Featuring K.Will

She is not really recognised or that famous yet, but I must say she is doing pretty well now. A lady whom I thought needs more attention from the media cuz she’s got real talent here!! She started out 2 years ago, pairing up with Tablo and released her very first single I Luv U. Since then, she has been joining the Korean Talent show Star King and even did a cover for few famous songs such as Super Junior’s Sorry Sorry and 2PM’s Again and Again.

Maybe a little underrated when she first appeared but not anymore. This time collaborating with South Korean Ballad singer Kim Hyung-Soo, better known by his stage name K.Will. A dancer, composer, actor, vocal guide ….and lots more…a really talented guy! And two vocally talented korean singers dueting together, haha, the result is a harmonious ballad depicting a story about how each the woman and man loved, although in different ways and realising that what they had was really something significant.

Who would have known a college student working as a singer at a jazz club would have such success now! Haha, perhaps a gem found by Composer Lee Hyun-seung.

Anws, I really like the music video for this song.

p.s. I feel that she is like a Korean-Rihanna, at least her singing style reminds me of Rihanna hoho :p

Btw, I give this song 4.1 out of 5 leaves....

The Spoken Word

Its 2am -_- Super uber awake and sober.
I have a tuition class later at a super early timing, not sure if I can wake up in time for that. sighz.

For the past few days.....It seems like everything is changing.
A couple of bad news. I am still hanging on...
Everything happens for a reason, thats what they always say.
Does that mean that we have to accept it silently? Do we even have a chance to voice out?
The things I encounter, the feelings I have for others, they continuously appear in my life.
At some occasions, I really want to be angry, yet I can't do anything about it.
I ain't a person who likes to force things to be the way they ain't to be.

As I grow up, I realise the importance of the spoken word.
Its a double-edge sword -- it can give life and it can take away one's every hope.
Yet, the very absence of words can make or break someone else.
Words, no doubt, is a form of assurance.
Not to even mention, those small little actions and surprises which will warm your heart.

Commencement (2)

7 July 2010

Its convocation for the EE graduates. Woke up pretty early, intending to attend the convo and give my bro a surprise. Perhaps he already knew I was gg haha. Anws it was a huge cohort, waited pretty long before they came out. Very shamelessly volunteered to be kh's photographer, ...he needed one anyway. And oh his excited mum was using the traditional camera, the film kind, tat brought back lots of memories.

Kian heng, with his grad lion named 'Lionus'

Mingzhi, my JC classmate

The NUS cookie was nice and crunchy too!
Had a chance to grab some before the buffet starts lol

Business Convo!Hmm..come to think of it, Deph is the only business friend I knew and is somebody I know Meiy cared a lot for. so Meiy and I went early to get sunflowers for her, the initial 1 stalk plan evolved into a bouquet. But most impt, can tell that Deph really likes it :) Didnt expect that we could get extra tics to enter the Auditorium, feels really nice to sit at the 2nd level monitoring everything from above. Was also her photographer for the day. Must admit my skills so-so only, but I am rather impressed by my camera which never disappoints me.

With Deph and Meiy :)
My face looked like charcoal lol. The sun's fault!
I was asked to hold the bear cuz it was the most MAN-ly item out of the 3.

Following her convo, Deph went for her grad dinner while Meiy and I made our way to cck to attend Puay Bing's 21st bday surprise. Its at Northvale Condo. Didnt explore the place much but the swimming pool was huge. And I realized there are more residents swimming at night, a great way to relax!

Anyway, her bday cake was in the shape of a trumpet! Damn cool! Pb is in the band orchestra, and her main instrument was trumpet, yeps. Remind me of those jc harmonica days which I really miss.

The EA Study Bench Gang

After the party, Meiy and I went to town to pick Deph up and we went amk for supper. haha, the night was still young. Suppose to be heading home after that, but Deph suggested we visit the ulu ulu Lower Seletar Reservoir near her house. I think they are still developing this area to link to the TPE in the near future. We walked around and started playing around with the camera, take jump shots etc. Then we felt sianz and decided to play sparklers!! LOL...the plan was to light those sparklers during pb's bday but it wasnt carried out. So yeps, brought already...不玩白不玩!

Reached home at 230am.
Everyone was asleep....I sneaked into my room, just like a thief haha!

Cooped

Mum went to Genting yesterday, so the house is practically empty until friday.
I was repeatedly asked to go, but in the end I decided not to.
I havnt been to enough places in spore yet. Am going to stay here and do what I want.
Tried to make cappuccino today, from scratch. It tasted awful :x
Something might be wrong with the milk temperature. darn..
Gave up unreluctantly. finished whatever is edible. lol

Tuition later.
LOVES Binomial theorem, HATE properties of circles...

so....Friday night going to Zouk.
Seriously, I m not really looking forward to.
A place which I told myself not to enter ever again.
Perhaps those familiar faces will reappear again.

Scolded my sis ytd night. Felt bad.
Didnt mean to. I'm sorry.

World behind my wall

It was down to 84 days a couple of months ago...too many things have happened since then, or perhaps I was too busy to even notice, and when it suddenly popped in my mind today, the paranoid feeling resurfaced. Time is really a scary thing. Once u lose track of it, you never know how much u have lost. I am pretty clear now, rather sober, because I understand what lies infront of me. I have taken all the risk I could all these while, if not I wouldnt have been blogging now. Facing up to reality, its silent battle I chose to fight long ago even tho I had already knew the results.

I looked at my past tweets.....
Now I ain't sure why I tweeted those remarks.
Rather ashamed at my selfish thoughts.
But I guess I did learn something recently. People are hard to understand. You shouldnt always assume u have the ability to fully understand a person. Its weird! You don't even understand your own feelings, what for trying your very best to understand others. Worse still! You meet a dead-end eventually and thats when you find yourself trapped in that dark dark world, its like a ring of fire surrounding you, u just have to resign to fate.

There were times too when I heard sad ballets; and my imagination turned dark and somber. There were certain times when my mind floated to a scene, as a spirit, watching my own funeral. Sadness flowed all over, looking over group of friends weeping, consoling each other and my love wailing all over, looking at my casket. And then I told myself to snap out of it.

I shall keep myself at home later and clean up my room.
Sometimes I am amazed that I can still accomplish certain 'mission' when i am unhappy. But thats me and my queer habit. I just want to keep my mind occupied.

I am a truthful person.
Alright, I tend to over-react and at times, leaving the person without much free personal time. I just tend to be seeking too much attention than usual when I'm reacting to my emotions.

Perhaps thats my weakness in my life.

I really tried my BEST for that last one.
But I havn't heard anything....
Nothing at all.....
I ain't disappointed; just hope everything can fall into their right place. Can they?

Commencement (1)

6 July 2010

It was Convocation day!
Was busy the night before, so managed to fall into slumberland at abt 5 and it was weird when I woke up at 8 feeling rather awake. The weird thing is that I have been staying up for the past few nights doing my stuff and working during the weekends. Commencement or Graduation Ceremony marks the end of the 4 dreadful years of studies, and a new beginning to the next phase of life. Yet surprisingly, I felt nothing special, just had that particular feeling that today was gonna be a busy one. True as it seems, the afternoon passed really fast and I was glad I had a fun day meeting up with friends and taking my last batch of photos in such a familiar environment.

Surprise Surprise! I received a Grad Lion from the Study Bench Gang. It was really expensive so I decided not to get it actually. Felt bad that they had to spend so much money. 谢谢你们!

TGIF

Woke up early today. 640 now -_-'''
Tho I didnt sleep much, probably just 3 hours.
Chatted with Deph till 2, then watch xinmsn a bit.
Then still quite awake.
Think there is something wrong with my bio clock.

So SIWW ended yesterday, I went 3 days lol, but the first 2 days were sort of last minute.
But met a few classmates, chit chat...its been a while since we met up anyway.
Overall, it was fun catching up with each other :)

Will be busy these few days.
Tmrw working at Republic Poly for boccia referee. And they sent me the rules and regulations.
