Havn't been blogging recently. Lazy slacking around…lolxx..One half of me is telling me to rest and recover from my back injury soon. The other is constantly reminding me to look for a job soon. Ya right, better earn some money and stop spending on unnecessary things. Well, that is if someone were to remind me of that whenever I start splurging. Met Dr. Pereira today. Not surprised that he still recognized me. The sight of him made me wonder how much physical chemistry I still remembered. I really miss the lab sessions, the stained lab coat is still in my wardrobe, neglected for 3-4 mths le. Me very careless la, I only wore the coat 3 times and it got permanently stained already lorz. I think the culprit isn’t KMnO4, maybe is some other chemicals that came into contact with each other accidentally. Anywae, should be wearing it soon if I choose biochem module, very excited abt the various lab sessions next sem. More lab reports!!!

Mum went to Genting to enjoy herself. I should have gone if I had known that the weather would be so terrible these days. NEA say that my area will rain, will experience showers. But wat I got was a few droplets of liquid when I went out today. I think I am the one experiencing the showers in the bathroom. So today, I decided to tidy up the house. Ya, I am the type who hates untidiness. Found a long lost group photo of my Tekong Whiskey Company. Realised I forgot most of the people already. No surprise, coz we never came into contact ever since we left that “place”. No gathering whatsoever…Nevertheless, still rem those happie moments that we shared while being “captivated”….lolx

“Created” a cd recently. I named it “The Best Of Avril”. Haha, instead of listening to her three albums one by one. I might as well choose the best songs from each album and dada…..3 in 1…I used to create a similar one for S Club 7, but somehow the cd got lost. Careless me…everytime lose things. Now listening to “The Best Of Avril” every night before I sleep…Really shiok!

Timbaland (Real Name: Timothy Z. Mosley) is another producer whose music has influenced many people. In fact, I feel that he always had that production style which is easily recognisable. Recently, he has created many No.1 hits for many artistes, including Justin Timberlake, and Nelly Furtado on her hit "Promiscuous" and collaborated with pussycat dolls on "Wait A Minute". After 9 years, he has finally released his 2nd solo album "Timbaland Presents Shock Value". And this time, he features N.F and J.T on the first single "Give It To Me". If u follow the lyrics carefully, u can easily find N.F and J.T's song titles appearing somewhere in there. This song has that hypnotic percussion, a common feature found in other songs of his album. Song might be short and simple. But it really has high potential to be one of the top songs of this year. I love the beat in the background! Way to go...

Visited a sinseh yesterday to get my back straightened. Tasted acupuncture for the first time, scary at first. But actually not that painful. lolxx, he twist here twist there, not even 10 mins. Basically now I can't bend fast. Sianz, a bit like 'ah pek' liaoz.....

It's just a very sultry song about young love, singing abt letting go of a person that one loves becos he doesnt share the same "feel". She describes the title as a term that everyone uses, esp young gals. Really an awesome track that has a really really catchy chorus. Could be the only pure pop song in this album. Is she going to be the second Kelly Clarkson? Maybe...

Shopping at IKEA

Another fun and fruitful day spent with Gavin. This time at IKEA Tampines and Courts. He planned to purchase a study table, but we ended up having a 2hr coffee/tea session at the IKEA cafe. $1.20 for a cup of coffee, refillable leh....Good deal worz...Chatted abt sch work, teaching tuition and relationship stuff. We really have so much to talk abt, probably because we haven't seen each other for 3 mths. Didn't know there was a new Giant mega store there. Really really mega.....Tired now...-_-..Zzz

Recently went to Marina Square to hunt for this Second Hand Music CD Store - Earz. Actually located near GV cinema and bowling centre. Third floor i think...lolx..got lost leh, me lousy ma, too long nv go liaoz.. Nice place to buy and sell cheap 2nd hand old old CDs....basically, they repackaged the cd, make it look very new and original again...

Of coz, there are other similar shops like Gramophone (They dun really have a large variety of used CD though) and Cash Converters in other places. But to find cheap chinese CDs, u have to try Chinatown Pearl Centre.

Had a chat with ocean yesterdae afternoon. Most likely, she would be streamed into env engineering. Hee....Enjoy ur hols!

Post Mother's Day song..hehe...A song commonly heard on American Idol, at the end of elimination night during this current season. They used to play "Bad Day" by former Idol finalist Daniel Powter. Daughtry is a new band, formed by lead singer Chris Daughtry, who was one of the top 4 finalists in last year's AI. Well, he chose to form a band instead of going out on his own. I guess the reason is quite obvious. (Look at Clay Aiken, Ruben, where are they now?) Fame doesn't last very long. So far, only Kelly Clarkson has the biggest success in her music career and she did it on her own. "Home" is actually a wistful love song, check out the sentimental lyrics....

Goldrush yummy!

haha, a trip to the airport just to have Swensens sundae. Well, I guess we all deserve a good treat since it is the hols. Thanks Gavin for the one-for-one sundae coupon. Goldrush is yummy, Chocolate & Coffee ice cream with butterscotch, chocolate fudge & almonds....awesome la..U.S. Fries crispy....I really like the ambience....The atmosphere at the Airport Swensens is so much different.....Going there for breakfast soon....hee...

Really lethargic now, went for a routine run with quanfu in the evening, dunnoe why today couldnt jump as far as I expected.....

Module Review (End of Sem 2)

Have been wanting to do this review for a very long time. Just to wrap up Semester 2 and declare the end of Year 1. From my favourite module to the most hated mod:

MA1506

No surprise that I would rank Maths as my most fav mod. Some chapters like modeling and Malthus population suck so badly because I find them difficult to understand. But luckily, Laplace and Matrix got back my confidence. Maths lecturer still as boring as before, ok lar, a bit cute sometimes…lol.. Well, I gave some feedback with regards to his teaching style in the teaching feedback exercise. Let’s just hope he will impart his knowledge in a more interesting way in future. Dun think I will ever be taught by him again. 2 Semesters already hor….Midterm was considered easy, looking at the average score by the whole cohort. Final exam was thus expected to be challenging. But horz, I feel that if u have done your tutorials again before the exam, u should be doing fine. Some exam questions quite similar to tutorial and lecture examples, but I didn’t think they would come out again.


MLE1101

Material Science is the only one mod that has got some relations to chemistry since I didn’t do any pure chem module this Sem. I really like the first few chapters taught by Prof Zhang. Well, at least I dun have to deal with essay questions coz I know that most likely, he will set calculation questions in the exam. The other chapters taught by the other 2 lecturers are more theory-based and there are less formulas to learn. Hence, it is not difficult to anticipate the type of questions that would emerge. Memorise is the word la, if u can memorise, u will score. But how much can a human brain take in? I dun have much memory space leh. But I must say that my tutor, Ms Tan, is very pro in MLE lor. I hope I have not let her and myself down coz I have always placed a lot of emphasis on chemistry related stuff.


EG1471

I admit that I have spent a lot of time on this English module even though it has no modular credits. But I believe that the amount of hard work that I have done could easily raise my CA marks, giving me more confidence to score and pass the exam. So far, I am quite satisfied with my paragraph, essay and portfolio assessment results. My tutor, Ms Khoo is a very nice and amicable person. I really hope all my tutors would be like her. Nothing much to say about the exams though, I have written that ethical consumption essay to the best of my knowledge, so just leave the rest to fate. This module has also given me a chance to know my own course mates better. Working with Xuan and Rolavia on the grammar project has given me a chance to see how smart and diligent they are. Xuan can be a great leader. Really hope that I could have another opportunity to partner with them on future projects. Oh ya, I also realized Shuling is quite a nice and cheerful gal. Hehe……Will always remember the jokes…


EC1301

The first SARTOR module. I thought this Econs module shd be okay for me, but it didn’t work out as well as what I had expected. Roughly know my final score already. Really bad because I know that this module is very competitive and I have never taken Econs before. I just hope that my grade for this mod is not that bad. I really spent a lot of time to study for this final exam but I still dunnoe why I just can’t score. Three lecturers, only Mr Roland is by far the most interesting one and he has also given me the motivation to continue to strive for this mod. I am not saying that Mr Chan is not good. Anyway, he is my tutor lorz and I am quite contented and satisfied with the way he explained the tutorial questions. He will always say the wrong things purposely and then correct himself just to make us understand the concept totally. During Lecture, really happy to know this girl, Jingjing who is a Chem Major in her second year. Hope that we can still stay in contact in future. Wow, now I really have a lot of Chem Major friends le.

PC1432

A bit tough compared to PC1431. That’s what I feel. I have always hated magnetic n electric fields because the only things abt physics that I always enjoy is projectile motion and gravitation stuff. Lolxx..that was in last Sem Physics. Also dun like the second lecturer. Feeling a bit sad about the final exam paper leh. I am still not sure if I had completed even 50 % of the paper and even if I had, I also don’t know how much rubbish I wrote. Sometimes when a person gets so frustrated and he doesn’t know how to do the paper, he will just write rubbish to console himself that he has written something. Must thank Jeremy for being my physics tutor all this while…..

EG1109

Why did I put Statics as the last? Haha…actually this module consists of Statics and Mechanics. I like the latter, especially the topic on beams. I feel that they should start us off with easier IB tutorials, give us some confidence ma. The first 3 IB tutorials are %#@^&%.... E-tutorials still not that bad, at least got some hints to help. Of course I liked the 2nd lecturer and the way he taught us how to study EG1109 outside class. He a bit like doraemon leh, can bring so many things to the lecture…lol.. Then the tutor also very cute la, likes to scribble on the whiteboard. Then those sitting at the back must bring binoculars la. But I must admire him on his ability to organize the limited space on the board. He is the only tutor who doesn’t speak much in class, because by the time he finished scribbling, it is almost the end of the tutorial. Next Sem I am taking hydraulics module, not sure if I will meet him again.

How time files! Have been slacking for more than a week. Had some training and running at Punggol Park recently. Wat a hot day today. Weather Boy says the temperature is now 32 degrees. Starting to miss the rain.

"Because Of You" is the leading track taken off his latest album of the same title. It has by far become his second-most successful song, after his #1 hit "So Sick" released in 2006. This song starts off strong with the thumping yet melodic tune. The storyline is all about late night hook-ups and and relationship struggles. People see him as the Michael Jackson of the new generation. I don't think so. He needs to improve on his dancing first.

Chalet over !

Had a great time during the chalet yesterday. I hope the food was okay. Really paiseh that I did nt participate much in the bbq. Was a bit busi making orange juice leh....hahah...Lyon giving excuse again......Didn't really eat much coz stomach not feeling very well. Had fun writing 唐诗 and taking pics on the beach with zhaoxuan, wangqi n minghui. It was during that time when I realised that my chinese has deteriorated. Loved to play poker. But meiling say I dun have the poker face. lolxx.....The response wasn't that good at the start, some people couldnt make it during the last min. But overall, I think half the class came. Actually I would prefer the chalet to be at downtown east instead of aloha loyang. At least downtown east is accessible by SBS bus also. Dun have to wait for shuttle bus having such a long interval in between.

Post Labour Day

It’s been a busi day, rented 2 VCDs, wanted to watch during Labour Day, but in the end didn’t. Woke up a bit early to finish watching them this morning so that I can return this afternoon.

Went on a shopping spree with Chenlu and Coral this afternoon at AMK Hub. Didn’t noe Minghui in the vicinity too. Actually not considered spree la, coz we only shopped in NTUC, buying those necessities needed for tomorrow’s BBQ at Aloha Loyang. Was glad that Chenlu didn’t break anything coz she really needed some training on the shopping trolley. I was like her ‘vehicle commander’ …Turn here, turn there…lolxx…Hmm…wun reveal too much detail on how she controlled it. Luckily, she is not driving in Singapore. Then when we were at the cashier, we were told that we need to donate 10 cents for each plastic bag that we got. I was like..huh? Got such thing meh? In the end, we were told that today is the first Wednesday of the month n we were supposed to bring our carrier bags to be environmentally friendly. Haha….tok abt being env friendly when we are env engineering students. But also quite ‘lucky’ lar, of all Wednesdays, we happened to shop today. But we bought all the things we planned to and managed to keep to our budget. Yeah!

Planned to meet one of my secondary school’s bro cum best friend for some IPPT training at 7pm. But the rain came so suddenly, first training kenna cancelled. Sianz…..But actually my legs already very tired after the shopping worz. Hee..
