ESE Symposium
ESE Symposium Day 2010!
The day where all our fyp posters were exhibited in the brand new T-Lab building.
Woke up 430am, started to jot down some background info on antibiotics on cue cards. Was pretty worried abt the specific processes of PCR that I might be asked to explain. Such as how the gene replicates, what the primer gene does, why is this temp 55 and the other 95….blah blah….then read those cue cards on the bus, but overslept at some point until some kind soul woke me up when 165 reached clementi interchange -_-
Anyway, it was quite a success today. Nice to see Kh and Sling who came down.
My poster judge was from PUB, yeps, and I screwed up my presentation. Said the wrong things!!
Only after he walked away, then suddenly realized the flaw.
Everyone’s poster was really nice and well-designed. Mine looks really simple haha. The old traditional design. Learnt a lot today by walking around and asking questions. Though some topics were really chim for me to understand.

TGIF
Finally ‘survived’ the week! hoho
Despite the constant reminder my body gave me that my fever was still ongoing.
This time it took quite some time to subside totally.
The week started okay, ya, even with the 4 hr HR class haha
Felt pretty well in the daytime, but body temp started to rise during the evenings.
Tue was the worst, that’s when I decided to just go home and rest for 10 hours! And I did!! Haha And so the fever virus decided to die on thurs, and I was back to normal and started jumpin lol
Mum was off to Genting for Mon and Tue, so had to take over some of the housework.
Wash plates, prepare hot water, wash clothes, sweep floor….
It doesn’t seem easy, especially when people are already asleep and you are ‘working hard’.
And when there are so much sch work waiting for you…..
and I realized it was weird to start sweeping the floor at 2am
Changed the content of my poster numerous times, can’t remember le.
And when it went to Dr He, I was told my design was not pretty. So have to change….
but dunno what’s HER standard of ‘pretty’.
And my comp kept on hanging whenever I alter the graphs on powerpoint. sighz
Really troublesome to have to keep on saving every 1 min.
Oh, and my data really cmi. With the original data that I recorded, it was almost impossible to explain the graphs plotted. So had a long consultation with CD on how to improve the readings :)
WW project finally done! Yesh!
I think our team really spent LOTs of time on this.
The whole Sunday was spent in CL just to finish up the report and it still wasn’t done.
April was on business trip and I decided to rehearse with the rest early in the morning before the presentation.
Luckily I did!!! Or else really cui….
Overall the presentation was okay, far better than our first rehearsal.
Everyone did their best :)
And I admit I was a bit hard on them, a bit desperate liao…but I did apologize in the end…
Cuz it was their first presentation in their life….
But at some point I was thinking; why not allow them to do it their own way.
The natural way always works wonders!
Was amazed that the attacks didn’t come this week.
Not sure if it was good news or what…
I guess I will have to be really careful for the next few days…
Hate to countdown, and seriously I am starting to get worried..
Among all the hectic lab/proj work, there is an additional load always surfacing in my mind.
But I took the gamble a couple of months ago.
Who to blame? But me...

Rainy Saturday
I so so so want to sleep!
But I can’t :(
Alright, trying to keep myself awake to compile ww report for tmrw’s meeting.
Realized that I am only working hard when deadlines are near.
This is really bad but it seems to become a habit of mine ever since I came back from the States.
Just came home from Amazing Race dry run.
Sighz, of all times, the sky had to pour this morning.
And I havn’t recovered from fever :x
At some point, I just gave up on using the umbrella, it sort of hindered my movements.
Hopefully nothing will happen to me this coming week, which is rather critical.
Everything in my bag was wet, including my fyp record book lol. Luckily the camera was alright.
The Roadblock on finding the letters from the trees and the task of finding marbles in a big sand pit were initiated by me, hoho, but it seemed to be really difficult. So have to make changes.
Actual race in May, after exams, before fyp presentation.
Not sure if I am still ard, but at least get the stuff/logistics done up by end April.
FYP poster presentation next sat.
It’s time to get my facts right, so have to find time to read papers.
which lyon really hates but he has no choice.
Haha, just hope that people will understand what I am talking abt, because sometimes I talk too fast, it gets out of point.
Poster not approved yet, but at least is 90% done.
but then my data has become rather inaccurate these days.
dunnoe what to do abt it also.

Its so happen that when I am not around, my equipments start to go crazy and fly around.
and today it broke a few bottles.
felt really bad, but luckily he understands.
so tmrw shall go and assess the impact.
Unsure of how the incident happen...
Its a new shaker, so anything can happen :x
Spent some time preparing clues for amazing race dry run.
printing.pasting.cutting.
luckily only 2 sets.
but really need to put in some time n effort.

Week 9
yes, and lots of things undone :(
Feel like taking a break tmrw and not go to sch at all...
but can I?
Hmm...When was the last time I did that? Couldnt remember alr
Came to school early today, brought 2 heavy ww text, alone at EA reading...
Complicated nitrification/denitrification material, *faint*
went through ese5404 notes, couldnt understand cuz it was probably too condensed.
Didnt take this mod, but I guess its really helpful.
Hope I will work out something abt MLE today.

Sometimes I do have regrets going for exchange, missing out all this useful mods related to my field, well pros and cons ba, I did enjoyed myself and came back in one piece.

也许休息太久有些懒惰了
每次周末想要马上调整状态，按部就班照原计划去做，但最后却没做到。
提不起劲来。
惭愧、后悔
惭愧没好好地遵守对自己许下的承诺。。
后悔没好好地把握宝贵的时间。。
也许我是迷失太久，骗自己太久
我知道我在做梦，但从不愿意从美梦中醒来。
我不想面对残酷的现实，
因为。。。。因为。。。
坦白说，我无法承受。
我突然爱上沉静，
也许这就是原来的我吧
